Hi guys,
New to the forum. I just retrieved and dusted off the "unworking" 130XE that had been untouched in my parents' basement for the last 20 years. Sometime as a teenager I stopped my father from throwing it out, but not before he had tossed all the power supplies, cables, joysticks, and media.
What was left was the 130XE itself, a 1050 drive, and a monitor, and a couple years ago I had bought some joysticks (Epyx 500XJ -- my old favorite) to use with an emulator.
Anyway, I recently decided to see if I could get the original hardware working, so I picked up an SIO cable and a lot of power supplies on eBay, and built a breakout cable for the audio and video. Everything seems to boot OK, and, having no media, I've made an SIO2PC cable, which also appears to work fine. The problem is that with many programs, I get partial video corruption, as shown in the photos below.
Here's the title screen of Montezuma's Revenge (one I'd really like to get working):
...and here's the opening screen of the actual game:
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot!
