Nice monitor stand, fairly cheap

I was browsing my local Wah-Mah (that's Chinese-American, for "Walmart" because this thing is made in China, and therefore that is relevant) and I noticed this little monitor stand.

It's billed as "to support LCD monitors," which means it's indicated to be "pretty much wuss."  Well, I'm of the opinion that a 13" CRT (JVC TM-A13SU that does S-video, as well as NTSC and PAL!) is the ideal A8 display.   As such, I'm happy to report that this little stand is strong enough to hold a 13" CRT, no problem.

I also like the 13" CRT for many videogame systems!   Originally, I had envisioned a 27" CRT for every [classic] videogame system in my posession.  Trouble is, there's just too many, now.  I want them all hooked up, all the time.   Turns out that the best (within my limited brain power) is to hook each up to a 13" CRT - so I can approach one and turn it on and play without having to "connect" anything - and move it to a larger display, in the event of sudden, unforseen interest, or an impromptu-showdown with another gamer.

As such, I am extremely pleased with this monitor stand, for 13" CRT.   Other than the fact that when the monitor is on the desk and less-than eye-level, the ports (and thus, the cables that protrude from them) tend to "ram" right into the monitor.   These cables must then go around the monitor.   Well, this little metal stand lets them go right under, and effectively increases the functional length of the cable, by negating the necessity to route around the monitor.

Consider this stand - for your 13" CRTs - and get one, before they quit.   The trouble is, that "they" make stuff for a while, and then quit.  I'm not sure if a much larger CRT would work on this, but I'm guessing that it would become too-heavy, quicky, as this is Cheap Chinese stuff here.   But it's great, for small monitors!

It definitely increases the use of your workspace, because the cables sticking out of the back of the computer/console are not ramming into the monitor.

This stand also supports the SC1224, the only other CRT I use, on Amiga and ST.

I had considered making my own, out of plywood and 2 x 4 boards, sanding, painting, etc, but this was so much easier.  I bought the first one at Wah-Man for $19.99 (plus tax 10% here) but I ordered several more (for all the other systems) from Amazon.com for $15.78, no tax, and free shipping on orders over $25 (means buy two, at least).
