What would make a 1200XL boot straight to the SELF HELP screen and start running the memory test? It won't boot with BASIC cartridge. Is the RAM or ROM bad? Its not mine yet, but its in a retro gaming store. If its just a RAM chip, that's fine, but I can't test the keyboard to tell how bad it is. I'm guessing the keyboard mylar has issues (they all do after 30 years). I'm planning on offering $20 as is. If its only a RAM or ROM issue, I can fix that. I can fix the keyboard as well or is this symptom a sign of a more serious failure. I don't have a spare CPU, GTIA, POKEY, etc.
