Already having discussed the problem we have (http://www.atariage....2/#entry2659435) when trying to use the raw video output, straight RGB values coming from a NTSC A7800, in a palette for emulators which lack proper NTSC video emulation (especially YUV support), what will be accomplished here is taking three levels of YUV achieved colors and make hard RGB values from them.
In that same thread here... http://www.atariage....2/#entry2659624... you'll notice that true NTSC/YUV simulation created multiple shade for each color value. So we will make a VIBRANT, FADED, and PALE palettes from it. Based on feedback received many NTSC users are going to favor the VIBRANT palette. The FADED and PALE ones have not been completed yet, and may be quite some time until done. This VIBRANT one took quite a considerable amount of time and effort.
The differences between the palettes will be as follows:
VIBRANT: Bright and brilliant red and blue (I.E. Dirt grounds tend to look brown and skies look blue)
FADED: Still fairly bright but weaker red and blue with a stronger green. (I.E. Dirt grounds look more neutral and lean towards greener. Skies can tend to look less saturated - more purple-ish).
PALE: Strong green with a much weakened red and blue influence (Closest to "RAW" palette - Grounds have a heavy green influence and skies tend to be much more purple and much less saturated blue).
Again this is to simulate the colors many NTSC users likely saw from their analog CRT TV's. This end result being limited with just an RGB palette and no further video controls working off the RAW palette from the previously linked thread.
MESS is closer to ideal: http://www.atariage....2/#entry2660238 but I know many like using ProSystem and wanted to provide this for the community.
