Pepsi Invaders Question/Challenge

I've recently picked up a Pepsi Invaders repro (Courtesy of CPUWIZ, thanks!) and have been having fun playing. So I'm curious as to whether this game might have a maximum achievable score? I know the score loops at 10,000 and starts over, but I was thinking that there might be a perfect game, so to speak. Sort of like doing a perfect run on Pac-Man. With a time limit and no way for the invaders to cause a game over by hitting the bottom of the screen I think in theory it could be done. Also with each game only being 3 minutes, it's not crazy exhausting to try.

In this case I would assume it would entail something like the following:
-Not wasting any shots by allowing them to drift to the top of the screen.
-Letting no Pepsi logo escape with its life.
-Gunning down the invaders in the most efficient sequence. (Though I'm not sure yet what that would be. Lots of ways to go about it.)

So therein lies the Pepsi Challenge: How close can AA'ers get? I found on another website there was a guy scoring in the lower 12,000's, but I think there's people here who could do better.

The strategies for score in this game are a lot different than surviving in Space Invaders. I'm a very far cry from any kind of Space/Pepsi Invaders master, but so far I've hit 11,140 with tons of room for improvement.

(Here's one close to 10,000 to show that I'm capable of rolling the score:)

What do you guys think? Is a perfect Pepsi Invaders run possible? How close close we get?
