River Raid II won't load

I've had this problem before. River Raid II won't load on my heavy sixer, but it loads just fine on my 7800. I posted before and after the reponses, I thought maybe my heavy sixer had a bad 6532 IC. To my understanding, that's where the I/O, RAM and the system timer are, hence the acronym "RIOT".
I swapped the RIOT first and the same thing happened. River Raid II will show the carrier, and the map, then the game will crash. Next I switched the CPU and tried it--same thing. The last thing I swapped was the TIA, still the same results. After I reflowed the motherboard, the only game I had problems with was River Raid II. Everything else works fine out of my (then) 250+ game collection. I haven't used the heavy sixer for a while due to the broken reset switch, so there are some games I've acquired that I haven't tested it with.

When I first got it, it had ring cracks on the RIOT's solder points and it had a damaged controller port. I fixed those, though, and gamed on happily until I think we had River Raid II in the high score competition.

Either my copy of River Raid II uses some kind of funky bankswitching the heavy sixer doesn't like, or perhaps the buffer IC has failed. I'd think if it was that buffer, though, more than one game would crash. If it's not that, I'm just gonna have to toss River Raid II in with the 7800 games, 'cause I don't plan to keep a different 2600 just to run it.

Any ideas?
