Going through boxes of ST stuff, sourced from many places.
Found several "Compute's Atari ST Magazine and Disk" disks. Would like to make images. I have some issues of the magazine, and will one day like to scan them (and get more, perhaps) because ST magazines/disks are NOT compiled nicely like they are for the 8-bit, with the exception of the EXCELLENT STart collection.
I have FloIMG, which I think is pretty cool. I've only used it a little. It looks like it makes .MSA images. Well, why are there .ST images out there, then?
What is the difference? Why are there both formats? Which is newer/superior?
Since FloIMG makes .MSA, I'm probably going to use it, but I thought it prudent to ask, first.
I hate .STX by the way. Who wants a format that can only be used on an emulator? I mean, I understand the copy protection is intact, but why can't you write it to disk, copy protection and all?
Thanks!
edit: just noticed that FloImg does both ST and MSA but question still stands! THx!
