For some reason I can't explain, I've gotten really interested in old Atari cassette software. Maybe it's nostalgia; I fondly remember my old man being reluctant to buy us games, but very willing to buy us the Invitation to Programming series.
My old 410 gave up the ghost many years ago, so I'm looking for a replacement. I'm only planning on reading old tapes, not making any new ones.
So...
1. Which Atari program recorder should I get?
1a. Were there any non-Atari program recorders made (and were they any good)?
2. Other than eBay and Craigslist, can anyone recommend a source where might I get one?
