The is a sequel to my original topic here:
Steven was gracious enough to exchange my first 1050 Happy board for a new one. For this I am very grateful.
I installed the new Happy board and it worked! Hooray! I could boot the Happy software that came with it, perform drive diagnostics and everything worked great.
Then I reassemble my drive... and it stops working. Same problem as before; the power light comes on but I get no movement from the drive at all; no spinning, no initial drive squawk, just nothing.
I disassemble everything, reseat all the connectors, including the board itself and it still doesn't work.
I'm thinking that when I turned the drive upside-down to screw on the top half of the case, something came loose and that fried the board.
The drive itself is fine; I can plug the original CPU and PROM chips back in and it goes back to work as a normal non-Happy 1050.
I guess my current drive just doesn't want to be Happy.
So, if anyone knows some magic troubleshooting tips, or any way to test the board other than to put it in a 1050 drive, PLEASE let me know.
