I found an original "Heavy Sixer" set in decent shape recently, and it seems to have come with the original grey power adapter and controllers (no hex discs, though, of course, and I looked through the manuals to try to see if they were stuck to the pages).
Everything is still working, luckily, but the joysticks are a little different. They both seem to be CX-10, as I can feel and hear the springs inside (they're squeaky) and the fire button has a long "throw", however one "clicks" very loud like there are microswitches in it, which the other is quiet with no click. Are there revisions of the CX-10, or is just one very worn out compared to the other?
EDIT: I opened them up and one has a brown board with no markings (the clicky one) and the other has a green board that says "Rev 5, 1977" on it. They are both definitely CX-10, as I have CX-40's and they are different (white plastic stalk with no springs, and no indent for hex disc).
The orange trim paint is worn away in several places on the console and joysticks. What is the best match for the original orange color and paint-type?
Is anyone still doing reproduction hex discs, or have any spares?
