Hi everyone and first and foremost Merry Christmas (almost!)
I have a very quick question regarding power (or switch to be exact) for my 800XL. Recently I was screwed out of a working 800XL in the marketplace (long story) and after much searching and struggle ended up finding a completely perfect and working 800XL for my new MyIDE II (and SIO to PC use soon). It did not have a power supply and all I had was one of those "Ingot" supplies, so I purchased "The Logo" from B&C and it appears to work great.
Now, I have set up my MyIDE II mainly using it for launching FAT32 executables (.xex) and that works great as well. However, I cannot find a way to exit a game and go back to the launcher without hard powering the computer off and then back on. There is no soft key to do this? If not, this has be concerned about dozens (or hundreds) of times I will be flipping the power switch on the 800XL.
I have a little box that has a switch on it and plugs into the wall. I could plug the Atari into this and then use that switch to power it on and off (ie: leave the power switch on the 800XL always in the "on" position) and I have tested it and it appears to work fine. However, I am concerned that this is not a good idea somehow, and rightfully so since it was such a b**** to obtain everything.
Does anyone have any input on the MyIDE II back to fatloader menu? Am I missing something? Or do you really have to cycle power to get back to file selection? If so, is it a good idea to power it and turn it on and off the way I mentioned, or no? And why?
Thanks!
