Hi folks,
I'm currently looking into improving support for analog tape in Atari++ and hence try to address the problem to convert analog tape recordings into CAS files. I reviewed a bit the WAV2CAS programs on the net, but none of them seems to be particularly well made - they all do not seem to address the digitalization correctly and attack the problem more or less in a pretty naive way. A bit of digital signal processing is required here, and I want to give it a try.
Thus, if you have WAV files from Atari tapes, I would be happy to take them to try a conversion. Note again that I'm *NOT* interested in any WAV files that were created purely digital, i.e. where never actually taped on analog tape. Such files are "clean" and "trivial" to convert. Instead, I'm looking into some "real life" examples that contain noisy samples, probably drop-outs and other effects you find in reality.
Greetings and thanks,
Thomas
