Hi all. I just wanted to thank everybody here for being here. About a month ago I was cleaning my basement and came across my Sears Telegame...many times I came across it and my wife would ask "why are you hanging on to this...you never play it." At the same time, my daughter and her fiance play Playstation and Xbox all the time and treat me like I never played a video game...like the toys I played with were made out of stone or something. So when I came across it, I decided I was going to hook this baby up. It hasn't been used in years, but all the games were there and the parts. Unfortunately, the joysticks were sluggish or just didn't work. So I went on line and decided to do some research on the thing to see if I can spiff it up some. Well, one of the first places to come up was this site. I was blown away by the amount of knowledge that could be found here. This place has led me to getting replacement joysticks, better ways of hooking it up, cleaning and other things necessary to get it up and running like new again. I was amazed that such an old and outdated system had such a following, and that you can still buy new games for it. And not games made by Atari or Activision, but by extremely talented individuals here who have the time and initiative to create wonders like Pac-Man 4K and the upcoming Space Rocks. Due to a surgical procedure I had back in 2004 that went horribly wrong causing me to spend eight months in the hospital and miracouslly live, I am disabled. So I have a lot of free time on my hands and it's hard to fill that time without going crazy. I am an artist and do some freelance work which kills some time. And now with my Atari hooked back up, I have one more thing to keep me occupied. And witih the new games coming out, it remains fresh and I don't have to rehash the old games, though those are still fun. So I just want to thank everyone here, from the casual poster to the advanced programmers. All of you contribute to a knowledge base that is priceless in the land of the 2600 and it has helped me a great deal over the last month or so. Keep up the great work and I hope to have a long relationship with you all.
