Are you smarter than a 5th grader?

I don't know if the game show "Are You Smarter Than A 5th grader" is in countries other than the USA, so if not, just a quick background of the show.  An adult is given grammar school questions to see if they know the answers as good as a panel of 5th graders.... Usually they don't.

Back in the late 80's I wrote a sort of high tech flash card game to help my nephew learn his multiplication tables.  I thought it came out pretty decent for a Basic game so I sent it into Antic to see if they would publish it in their magazine.  They did, and it actually ended up in their last issue before they closed shop.

Anyway, every few years or so I run the program just for nostalgia sake and it seems to be a case of "Are you smarter than a 5th grader".  Back when I wrote the program I could run the program at it's highest difficulty setting and get all 12 problems correct every time.  Now... not so much.  If anyone wants to see if their multiplication skills have stood the test of time.  I've attached the program below.  You need Basic enabled, and the program was developed on an NTSC machine, so no cheating and running it on a PAL system setup if you are using an emulator.  Post a reply on how you did.  You'll want to pick a multiplication table you have problems with or "Mix" if you want a variety.  Then pick level 9 for the difficulty.  Oh and if you are running it in an emulator.  Try not using your numeric keypad to enter the answers.  It's a bit more difficult if you have to scan across the top of your entire keyboard to enter the numbers.
