I'm having controller problems with an Atari 400 I got from my brother's attic. It seemed to work at first, but after a bit of playing, or alot of swapping of game carts, the only thing that works on the joystick is the button. If I'm playing Galaxian for example, my ship will either stop moving, or just pull to one side of the screen or the other and stay there. I can still fire. It will be fine the next day for a while.
I've tried different sticks, and finally swapped out the old joystick board with a NOS board, but the problem persists. Is the 400 fried from being in an attic for 15 years? Occasionally an entire game will freeze, but that seems to be mostly Pac Man.
