I hooked up my new 130XE today and while the case is nice without noticeable yellowing the row of function keys simply does not work. I disassembled the keyboard but couldn't find any obvious breaks in the traces so I assume I have to measure them. Given the results from other threads (window defroster repair kit works but just for a couple of months) I wonder if I should really do this or rather get a new sheet of mylar (from Best electronics).
If I go for a new Mylar, does it make sense to order a spare (for another XE and and XEGS) and can anyone give feedback on whether the "spring" and "improved keycups" upgrades offered by Best make sense. (I am not really planning to write my thesis on these things, I'll rather only use them for an occasional game or so.)
