Anyone have this happen? Without fail (i.e. consistently), when I power up this 1200XL it goes straight to the ROM/RAM test. It runs the test and passes for both ROM and RAM, but I can't get it to boot. Installation of a cartridge is ignored and still goes to ROM/RAM test. Also, the L1 and L2 LEDS alternate ON and OFF (someone here has to know what that means). It can't be a dead keyboard, because it should boot to the ATARI splash screen even if the keyboard isn't installed right? I can't even get the ATARI splash screen. Anyone have an open 1200XL they can test this on? I'd do it myself, but it's not mine yet. It's in a retro gaming store and I don't want to buy it if the keyboard is toast. Yes, I can live with the mylar intermittent key continuity (I can remedy that), but not a keyboard that is toast (bad IC). My guess is that its got to be something else. Video quality is good, don't know if there is a sound issue and can't get it to run the SALT cartridge (Just ROM/RAM test). Once the ROM/RAM test is complete, it won't allow me to exit. Even the RESET key does not work. Any ideas?
