I was excited when I took my son to a local (privately owned) game store this week to try and trade one of his PS3 games. He had a beautiful display case behind the counter with an perfect original VCS box, surrounded by original hardware, games, and accessories. I was impressed. He also had a selection of common games (Combat, E.T, Pac Man, etc) on the shelf next to the PS3 games for $5 each. Too much, yes, but it was cool to see it in a retail store. I struck up a conversation with the owner thinking he was an Atari enthusiast like myself, but I was dead wrong. He said he had all of that stuff out as "eye candy" because customers like to see it, and he wasn't actually interested in any of it and it didn't really sell. Sad Day. It was Arch City Gaming (http://www.archcitygaming.com/) in Bridgeton, Missouri (out in the suburbs of St. Louis). I really don't want to go back now.
