Atari 5200 Help Needed

So, I just recently got an Atari 5200 2 port off ebay.  Ordered some games, refurb controllers, a new power supply, everything set to go.  The system will turn on, is powered fine, but will not display video correctly.  I've read the 5200 service manual, and my problem is not described.  I don't get a green screen, I don't get a completely black screen.  I get a mostly black screen with diagonal gray bars.  I opened up the machine and took a look inside.

Nothing appears visibly blown, I checked all the ram and processor chips to make sure they were secured snugly in their sockets, everything checks out.  However, I noticed a pin connection that was broken toward the rear of the board, in what I'm assuming is some part of the video output, but I have no idea.  There is the black thing sticking up (technical term) and it has a three pin connector on each side, but on the back, the very rightmost pin is snapped from the board and where it is supposed to connect is labeled "VR1".  Could this be the problem?  Would it work to just solder the one pin back down?

I've included some pictures to show what I'm talking about, I'm sorry I can't be more specific about what it is or have better pictures, but I'd sure appreciate some help if you guys can help!
