For those familiar with my research, you may be interested to know that I may be doing a 20 minute presentation on my historical discovery at a colloquium for two local universities. I'm presenting the story in the context of the decline of Atari Corporation.
I have my own theory on why Jack Tramiel left Atari (or at least stepped away from the day-to-day operations), but I was wondering if there was ever any official explanation? (If there is a known explanation out there, I want to be aware of it and to explore it.) But I'm not having much luck finding Jack's reasons behind this.
The only reason I've seen for why he turned over Atari was explained in terms of what he actually did, which was to turn the company over to his son. But was there any official explanations (or even speculation) as to why Jack Tramiel was stepping away from Atari?
