I hooked up the old 800xl last night after nearly a decade of storage and the keyboard didn't work. Argh! I opened it up, removed and opened up the keyboard, and all the traces on the mylar were almost completely blackened. After about an hour of carefully scrubbing it with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol, it looked pretty good and voila! it worked fine. My 1200xl seems to have the same problem, none of the keys on the keyboard work. Is this a common problem on the old XL systems? I'm mostly a commodore fan from the 8-bit computer era, and just recently started pulling out my old Atari stuff. I just ordered a sio2sd device in a cool looking case from "Lotharek" in Poland, looking forward to some Atari 8-bit gaming goodness in the near future now that I have a working keyboard. ![:)]()
